Dr. Shaheen R. Upton graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with honors in Biology and Chemistry and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry. She is committed to being actively involved in her community and church. She enjoys working with young children and adults of all ages. Her gentle demeanor has helped many patients conquer their dental phobia. Her patient focused attitude, friendly chair side manner, and heartfelt compassion is remarkable.

Dr. Upton regularly attends continuing education courses to expand her knowledge base in Endodontics (root canals), Orthodontics (clear braces- Invisalign), Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dentistry, Laser Dentistry, as well as General Restorative Dentistry. Her commitment to education is also transparent through her involvement with such professional organizations as:

Dr. Upton enjoys giving back to the community as a volunteer and supporter of various charitable organizations including Cahaba Valley Health Care, and Habitat of Humanity. She is a native of Birmingham and currently resides in her hometown of Hoover. During her leisure time, she enjoys traveling, cooking ethnic foods, and going to the lake with her husband Gary and dog April.
